From Boston, Massachusetts:  Nahant is located 20-minutes North of Boston and Logan Airport. Take Route 1A North and proceed for approximately 7-miles. Go over the General Edwards Bridge and follow the Lynnway for 2-miles to the Nahant Rotary. Take the first right off  the Rotary onto the Nahant Causeway and proceed straight onto Nahant Road. The business section is about 2-miles on your right, directly across from Short Beach. The Nahant Town Hall and Public Library are about 1-mile further up the road on your left.

From Route 128:  Take Exit 44B (Lynnfield Street / Route 129 East). Follow signs for Route 129 East through many traffic lights (this is a heavily travelled road), through Wyoma Square. Bear left at the intersection after Wyoma Square. (The Exxon gas station will be ahead and to your right and Flax Pond will be on your left.) At the second set of lights at Western Avenue (Gulf, Mobil, Mr. Specs), proceed straight across intersection onto Chestnut Street (past Brothers Auto Repair on your left). Continue for about 1.5 to 2 miles. (You will go through two more sets of traffic lights and a very busy section of road.) When you come to a traffic light intersection with a convenience store on your left and Crown Drug on the corner in front and to the left of you (Broad Street) proceed straight across. Follow the road to the first stop sign. (From this point the road gets narrower and narrower until you come to the ocean.) Proceed straight across (by now you should see the ocean directly in front of you). Bear right at the stop sign onto Lynn Shore Drive. Continue straight to the Nahant Rotary. Proceed into the Rotary to the second exit, half-way around the Rotary. (Be careful, don’t go onto the Lynnway.) Bear right off the Rotary onto the Nahant Causeway. Follow the Causeway into Nahant. (The Causeway turns into Nahant Road at the Equitable Cooperative Bank, which will be on your left.) Follow Nahant Road for about two miles. The Nahant Town Hall and Public Library will be on your left and if you continue another half-mile you will come to Forty Steps, a well-known scenic ocean view.
 
If travelling by way of I-93 South:  On I-93 South, proceed to I-95 / Route 128 North exit ramp. Follow according to directions from Route 128 above.

If travelling by way of I-95 South:  On I-95 South, go all the way until Route 128. Proceed South on Route 128 and follow directions from Route 128 above.
